What I did not understand about this lecture was why horizontal monopolies are illegal. I understand that one person would have the power over everything and tthat's not the "American way", but why is that so bad? Also, how would one get to the point of being the filter for a horizontal monopoly?
All the fourteen years I've been alive, i had never heard of or known about elitist and populist. I've never really experienced it (except that one time all the stations I listend todecided to start playing crappy music). I thought every medium was trying to stay with the forever changing trends, but apparently there are mediums that express their own views no matter what and have purpose.
This lecture taught me a lot about how the entertainment world is becoming smaller and how business is handeled within it. I would not have known otherwise.
